When I Found Out:
I think it was in 2006. I want others to know that I once was also HIV NEGATIVE.
How I was infected:
Through sexual intercourse.
What I've learned from living with HIV:
That Americans are so secluded, stubborn, and ignorant when it comes to real world problems or a virus such as HIV.
What I think is the biggest difference between people's perceptions and the reality of living with HIV:
The DEATH factor. The majority of the time HIV isn't going to cause death within a few months or years. People tend to think of it as a death sentence.
Who I thought HIV affected before I learned I was positive:
Dirty, drug using, promiscuous people. I used to be the secluded stubborn ignorant American. I'm sure there are other areas I need to educate myself on, but the overall experience with HIV has been mostly positive. It has really opened my eyes to things I never saw or even cared to pay attention to before.
